What is CVE-2020-22524?

The FreeImage Library version 3.19.0 is susceptible to a buffer overflow vulnerability in its FreeImage_Load function. This vulnerability can be exploited by an attacker to craft a malicious PFM file, which, when processed by the library, could lead to a denial of service. As a result, applications that utilize this library may crash or become unresponsive, compromising their availability and functionality.
