What is CVE-2020-23830?

A Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF) vulnerability exists in the changeUsername.php file of SourceCodester's Stock Management System version 1.0. This security weakness allows attackers to exploit the trust between an authenticated user and the web application. By enticing the victim to visit a malicious site, the attacker can send unauthorized requests that alter the victim's username, effectively locking them out of their own account. This vulnerability exemplifies the importance of implementing anti-CSRF tokens and secure coding practices to safeguard user accounts against such exploits.

Exploit Proof of Concept (PoC)

PoC code is written by security researchers to demonstrate the vulnerability can be exploited. PoC code is also a key component for weaponization which could lead to ransomware.
