What is CVE-2020-27523?

The Solstice-Pod WebRTC server versions up to 5.0.2 are susceptible to a format string vulnerability. This issue arises during the authentication process, where the server improperly handles format specifiers such as %x, %p, %c, and %s in several parameters including screen_key, display_name, browser_name, and operation_system. Exploitation of this vulnerability can result in a server crash, triggering a reboot of the Solstice-Pod, which ultimately leads to a denial of service. To mitigate risks, users are advised to review their system configurations and apply necessary updates.
