What is CVE-2020-28036?

A vulnerability exists in the wp-includes/class-wp-xmlrpc-server.php file in WordPress before version 5.5.2 that allows attackers to abuse the XML-RPC interface. Through this weakness, unauthorized users may exploit XML-RPC to post comments on behalf of other users, compromising the integrity of posts and potentially enabling further unauthorized actions within the site.
