What is CVE-2020-28042?

ServiceStack, an open-source .NET web services framework, exhibits a vulnerability in its handling of JSON Web Token (JWT) signature verification. Versions before 5.9.2 fail to validate the minimum length of JWT signatures unless a custom ValidateToken function is implemented. This flaw can lead to unauthorized access, allowing malicious actors to bypass authentication mechanisms and compromise applications relying on JWT for secure communications.
