What is CVE-2020-28926?

ReadyMedia, also known as MiniDLNA, prior to version 1.3.0, is vulnerable to a remote code execution flaw. Attackers can exploit this vulnerability by sending a specially crafted UPnP HTTP request utilizing HTTP chunked encoding. This manipulation can trigger a signedness bug that leads to a buffer overflow during memory operations, such as memcpy or memmove, potentially allowing an attacker to execute arbitrary code on the affected system.

Exploit Proof of Concept (PoC)

PoC code is written by security researchers to demonstrate the vulnerability can be exploited. PoC code is also a key component for weaponization which could lead to ransomware.
