What is CVE-2020-36885?

The Sony IPELA Network Camera version 1.82.01 is susceptible to a stack buffer overflow through its ftpclient.cgi endpoint. This vulnerability enables remote attackers to send specially crafted POST requests containing oversized data to the FTP client, potentially leading to arbitrary code execution or a denial of service. Users are advised to upgrade to version 1.88.0.0 or later to mitigate this risk.
