What is CVE-2020-36964?

YATinyWinFTP is susceptible to a denial of service attack whereby an attacker can crash the FTP service by sending a specially crafted 272-byte buffer with a trailing space. This exploits a buffer overflow vulnerability, which can be triggered by executing a malformed command. By connecting to the service and sending this buffer, attackers can effectively disrupt service availability, highlighting the importance of immediate intervention and patching to maintain security and service continuity.
