What is CVE-2020-36969?

M/Monit version 3.7.4 is susceptible to a privilege escalation vulnerability that enables authenticated users to alter user permissions by exploiting the admin parameter. Attackers can execute a crafted POST request targeting the /api/1/admin/users/update endpoint, thereby granting standard user accounts elevated administrative access. This flaw presents significant risks as it can lead to unauthorized changes to system configurations and data breaches.
