What is CVE-2020-36977?
Wondershare Driver Install Service is susceptible to an unquoted service path issue in its ElevationService executable. This vulnerability allows local attackers to inject malicious code by exploiting the unquoted path. If successfully executed, an attacker could replace the legitimate service binary with a malicious executable, resulting in elevated privileges to the LocalSystem account. Such a compromise can lead to significant security risks, including unauthorized access to system resources and sensitive data.
