What is CVE-2020-37119?
Nsauditor versions 3.0.28 and 3.2.1.0 are affected by a buffer overflow vulnerability within the DNS Lookup tool. This issue enables attackers to execute arbitrary code by crafting specially designed DNS query payloads, resulting in a three-byte memory overwrite. By circumventing Address Space Layout Randomization (ASLR), this vulnerability can be exploited to execute shellcode using a precisely constructed attack, posing a significant risk to system integrity.
