What is CVE-2020-37138?
The 10-Strike Network Inventory Explorer 9.03 is susceptible to a buffer overflow vulnerability due to faulty file import functionality. Attackers can exploit this flaw by sending a maliciously crafted text file that triggers a stack-based buffer overflow and allows arbitrary code execution. The attack can be executed by leveraging a Return-Oriented Programming (ROP) chain to bypass data execution prevention mechanisms, enabling remote attackers to gain unauthorized control over affected systems.
