What is CVE-2020-4005?

VMware ESXi versions prior to the specified updates are susceptible to a privilege escalation vulnerability. This issue arises from the improper management of certain system calls within the VMX process. An attacker with limited access may exploit this vulnerability to gain higher privileges on the affected system. Successful exploitation typically requires the attacker to also take advantage of another vulnerability, thus forming a more significant security risk.
