What is CVE-2020-6627?

The web-management application of Seagate Central NAS devices is susceptible to OS command injection due to improper validation in the mv_backend_launch function. This vulnerability allows an attacker to exploit the 'start' state by sending a crafted check_device_name request, which in turn enables the execution of arbitrary system commands on the affected devices. This poses a significant risk as an attacker can gain unauthorized access to sensitive information or manipulate device functionality.
