What is CVE-2020-6829?

A vulnerability exists in Firefox and Firefox for Android where the wNAF point multiplication algorithm, used during EC scalar point multiplication, inadvertently leaks partial information about the nonce employed in digital signature generation. This leakage could potentially allow an adversary, by observing electro-magnetic traces from a small number of signature processes, to derive the private key linked to the corresponding public key. The issue specifically impacts versions prior to 80, highlighting a significant security risk for users operating on these versions.
