Authentication Bypass Vulnerability in Rockwell Automation MicroLogix Controllers
CVE-2020-6988

7.5HIGH

What is CVE-2020-6988?

The vulnerability affects Rockwell Automation's MicroLogix 1400 Controllers Series B (v21.001 and earlier), Series A, and the MicroLogix 1100 Controller, along with RSLogix 500 Software (v12.001 and earlier). An unauthenticated remote attacker can exploit this vulnerability by sending a crafted request through the RSLogix 500 software to the MicroLogix controller. This communication allows the controller to inadvertently reveal used password values, which could lead to unauthorized access and potential exposure of sensitive information, thereby compromising the security of the affected systems.
