CVE-2020-6990

9.8CRITICAL

What is CVE-2020-6990?

A vulnerability in Rockwell Automation's MicroLogix 1400 Controllers Series B (v21.001 and prior), Series A (all versions), MicroLogix 1100 Controller (all versions), and RSLogix 500 Software (v12.001 and prior) arises from a hard-coded cryptographic key within the RSLogix 500 binary file. This flaw allows an attacker to potentially extract cryptographic keys used in account password protection, which can facilitate further cryptographic attacks and may enable unauthorized remote access to the affected controllers.
