What is CVE-2020-7009?

Elasticsearch versions from 6.7.0 up to 6.8.7 and from 7.0.0 up to 7.6.1 are affected by a privilege escalation flaw that arises when an attacker successfully creates API keys. If compromised, these API keys can be manipulated to grant elevated access, allowing unauthorized operations that could compromise system integrity.
