What is CVE-2020-8086?

The mod_auth_ldap and mod_auth_ldap2 modules in Prosody prior to January 27, 2020, have a flaw where the XMPP address used in the is_admin() function isn't properly verified. This weakness can be exploited by remote attackers through a manipulated XMPP username that matches an existing local admin's username, thereby granting them unauthorized administrative privileges.
