What is CVE-2020-8443?
The OSSEC-HIDS product versions 2.7 through 3.5.0 are affected by an off-by-one heap-based buffer overflow vulnerability. This occurs in the ossec-analysisd server component during the processing of crafted syslog messages that are received from authenticated remote agents. The flaw can lead to potential data corruption and can be exploited by sending specially crafted syslog messages to the analysisd processing queue via ossec-remoted.
