What is CVE-2021-20156?
The Trendnet AC2600 TEW-827DRU version 2.08B01 is affected by an improper access control configuration which may allow attackers to conduct malicious firmware updates. This vulnerability arises from the absence of proper signature validation during firmware updates, whether installed manually or via the automated update feature in the device's admin interface. As a result, if an attacker successfully impersonates the update server, they can deliver unverified and potentially harmful firmware to the device, compromising its integrity and operational security.
