Integer Overflow Vulnerability in MPEG-4 Decoding of GPAC Project by Advanced Content
CVE-2021-21840
What is CVE-2021-21840?
An integer overflow vulnerability exists in the MPEG-4 decoding functionality of the GPAC Project on Advanced Content library version 1.0.1. This flaw is triggered when processing a specially crafted MPEG-4 input with the "saio" FOURCC code, which leads to unchecked arithmetic operations. As a result, it can cause a heap-based buffer overflow and subsequent memory corruption. Attackers could exploit this vulnerability by persuading users to open a malicious video file, potentially compromising system integrity.
