Integer Overflow in MPEG-4 Decoding of GPAC Project on Advanced Content
CVE-2021-21850
What is CVE-2021-21850?
An integer overflow vulnerability exists in the MPEG-4 decoding functionality of the GPAC Project's Advanced Content library v1.0.1. This vulnerability can be exploited by a specially crafted MPEG-4 file that manipulates the 'trun' FOURCC atom, leading to unchecked arithmetic that causes a heap-based buffer overflow. The resulting memory corruption can be triggered when a user opens a maliciously crafted video file, posing significant security risks to affected systems.
