Integer Truncation Vulnerability in GPAC Project on Advanced Content
CVE-2021-21861
What is CVE-2021-21861?
An exploitable integer truncation vulnerability exists within the MPEG-4 decoding functionality of the GPAC Project on Advanced Content library. This vulnerability can be triggered when a specially crafted MPEG-4 file containing an erroneous 'hdlr' FOURCC code is processed, leading to improper memory allocation. As a result, a heap-based buffer overflow occurs, potentially causing significant memory corruption. Attackers could leverage this flaw by convincing users to open compromised video files.
