What is CVE-2021-26929?

A Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability exists in the Horde Groupware Webmail Edition through version 5.2.22, where the Horde_Text_Filter library versions prior to 2.3.7 are utilized. Attackers can exploit this flaw by sending crafted plain text emails containing malicious JavaScript. The vulnerability arises from the improper processing of encoded characters in the preProcess function of Text2html.php, allowing attackers to bypass XSS defenses. This could lead to unauthorized access and manipulation of user sessions.
