CVE-2021-27923
7.5HIGH
What is CVE-2021-27923?
Prior to version 8.1.1, Pillow, the Python Imaging Library, is susceptible to a denial of service attack due to improper validation of image sizes when handling ICO container files. Attackers can exploit this vulnerability by supplying a specially crafted ICO image, which may lead to excessive memory consumption during processing, potentially overwhelming system resources and resulting in service unavailability. It is crucial for users to upgrade to the latest version to mitigate this risk.
