Uninitialized Value Exposure in Eclipse OpenJ9 by IBM
CVE-2021-28167
6.5MEDIUM
What is CVE-2021-28167?
In IBM's Eclipse OpenJ9 up to version 0.25.0, a flaw exists due to the usage of the jdk.internal.reflect.ConstantPool API. This design oversight may permit a user to invoke static methods or access static members bypassing the necessary class initialization method, resulting in the potential exposure of uninitialized values within the JVM. Such behavior raises serious concerns about application security, as it could lead to unintended information disclosure.
