What is CVE-2021-31879?

The GNU Wget version 1.21.1 contains a security flaw wherein the Authorization header is not omitted when the application performs a redirect to a different origin. This unintended behavior could potentially expose sensitive information contained in the Authorization header to third-party sites during HTTP redirection.
