What is CVE-2021-32086?

A vulnerability has been identified in the Quest KACE Systems Deployment Appliance version 11.0.273, where a hardcoded symmetric encryption key is used to encrypt sensitive data stored in MySQL databases. This key is the same for all installations, allowing an attacker with access to the MySQL server or backup files to decrypt the encrypted secrets. The leaked secrets may enable the attacker to escalate privileges within the KACE system or gain unauthorized access to other systems and services, thereby compromising the overall security framework.
