What is CVE-2021-37206?
A vulnerability has been identified in the SIPROTEC 5 relays, specifically affecting CPU variants CP050, CP100, and CP300 on pre-version 8.80. The issue arises from improper processing of received webpackets, enabling an unauthenticated remote attacker with network access to exploit the vulnerability and send specially crafted packets. This allows the attacker to force a restart of the affected devices, which may disrupt critical operations. Securing Ethernet interfaces is vital for preventing such exploitation.
