Local Privilege Escalation Vulnerability in Nagios XI by Nagios
CVE-2021-37345
7.8HIGH
What is CVE-2021-37345?
Nagios XI versions before 5.8.5 are susceptible to a local privilege escalation vulnerability. This issue arises because the xi-sys.cfg configuration file is imported from the var directory, exposing it to scripts that run with elevated permissions. This flaw could enable an attacker to manipulate permissions and gain unauthorized access to sensitive areas of the system, potentially compromising its integrity. Users are advised to upgrade to the latest version to mitigate this risk.
