What is CVE-2021-37748?
Multiple buffer overflow vulnerabilities exist in the limited configuration shell of Grandstream HT801 devices before version 1.0.29. These vulnerabilities can be exploited by remote authenticated users, allowing them to execute arbitrary code with root privileges by manipulating the manage_if setting. This exploitation bypasses the intended restrictions of the shell, granting full control over the device. Additionally, the presence of default weak credentials further facilitates unauthorized access, posing a significant risk to device integrity and security.
Exploit Proof of Concept (PoC)
PoC code is written by security researchers to demonstrate the vulnerability can be exploited. PoC code is also a key component for weaponization which could lead to ransomware.
