Memory Leak Vulnerability in DCMTK by Offis GmbH
CVE-2021-41690
7.5HIGH
What is CVE-2021-41690?
DCMTK versions prior to 3.6.6 contain a vulnerability that fails to adequately manage memory allocation, particularly concerning the storage of file information within a global variable. This oversight can be exploited by sending specially crafted requests to the dcmqrdb service, resulting in memory not being freed properly. Such memory leak can lead to significant service disruption, leaving systems vulnerable to Denial of Service (DoS) attacks.
