What is CVE-2021-42976?
The NoMachine Enterprise Desktop software has a buffer overflow vulnerability in the IOCTL Handler 0x22001B. This flaw exists in versions above 4.0.346 and below 7.7.4, allowing local attackers to exploit the vulnerability. An attacker can craft specific I/O Request Packets that may lead to arbitrary code execution in kernel mode, potentially resulting in memory corruption or system crashes. Users are urged to update their installations to mitigate this risk.
