What is CVE-2021-42986?

NoMachine Enterprise Client is vulnerable to an Integer Overflow issue within its IOCTL handler. This flaw allows local attackers to exploit the functionality of the software. By crafting specific I/O Request Packets, an attacker can trigger arbitrary code execution in kernel mode or lead to memory corruption, resulting in a denial of service that may cause the operating system to crash. This vulnerability affects versions of the NoMachine Enterprise Client from above 4.0.346 to below 7.7.4.
