What is CVE-2021-44223?
WordPress versions prior to 5.8 are susceptible to a vulnerability that lacks support for the Update URI plugin header. This loophole can be exploited by remote attackers to execute arbitrary code through a supply-chain attack. The issue arises when WordPress installations utilize plugins that adhere to the naming conventions of the WordPress.org Plugin Directory but have not yet been included in that directory.
