What is CVE-2021-44404?

A denial of service vulnerability has been identified in the JSON command parser functionality of the Reolink RLC-410W camera. By crafting a specific HTTP request, an attacker can exploit this vulnerability, causing the device to reboot unexpectedly. This issue arises due to the mishandling of the GetZoomFocus parameter, which should be an object but is not. Consequently, devices running affected firmware versions could be rendered momentarily unavailable, potentially disrupting surveillance activities.
