What is CVE-2021-47781?
The Cmder Console Emulator version 1.3.18 is susceptible to a buffer overflow vulnerability that enables attackers to induce a denial of service condition. This is achieved by crafting a malicious .cmd file containing a sequence of repeated characters, strategically designed to exceed the buffer limits of the console emulator. When the vulnerable application processes such a file, it may crash, disrupting service and potentially opening the door for further exploitation.
