What is CVE-2021-47931?

Exponent CMS version 2.6 is susceptible to a stored cross-site scripting vulnerability that enables authenticated attackers to inject malicious scripts through the Title and Text Block parameters in the text editing endpoint. This flaw permits the insertion of iframe payloads that can execute arbitrary JavaScript via embedded SVG onload events. Additionally, the application inadvertently exposes sensitive database credentials in its responses and lacks adequate brute-force protection on authentication endpoints, thereby further compromising its security.

Affected Version(s)

Exponent CMS 0 <= 2.6
