What is CVE-2021-47942?

A path traversal vulnerability exists in Home Assistant Community Store (HACS) 1.10.0 that enables unauthenticated attackers to exploit the /hacsfiles/ endpoint. This flaw allows attackers to traverse directories and read sensitive files, such as the .storage/auth file, which contains user credentials and refresh tokens. By obtaining this sensitive information, attackers can craft valid JWT tokens to gain unauthorized administrative access to Home Assistant instances, posing a significant risk to users' data and system integrity.
