What is CVE-2022-22704?

The zabbix-agent2 package prior to version 5.4.9-r1 for Alpine Linux contains a design flaw that may lead to unauthorized privilege escalation to root. This issue arises from an incorrect assumption regarding the role of systemd in determining part of the configuration, which can be exploited by malicious actors to gain elevated access rights.
