A vulnerability in the Spring Framework could allow unauthorized remote code execution (RCE) when an application is running on JDK 9+ with Spring MVC or Spring WebFlux deployed as a WAR on a Tomcat server. If the application is executed as a Spring Boot executable JAR, it is not susceptible to this exploit. Given the broad nature of this vulnerability, other permutations may exist that could lead to exploitation.
