What is CVE-2022-23552?
A stored XSS vulnerability exists in Grafana's GeoMap plugin, allowing attackers with the Editor role to upload SVG files that aren't properly sanitized. This flaw can enable the execution of arbitrary JavaScript in the context of the authorized user. Attackers could exploit this to escalate privileges vertically, potentially compromising Admin credentials if exploited during a dashboard session. Users are advised to upgrade to versions 8.5.16, 9.2.10, or 9.3.4 to mitigate this risk.
