What is CVE-2022-24123?
MarkText, an open-source markdown editor, contains a vulnerability where input within a mermaid block is not properly sanitized before rendering. As a result, an attacker could exploit this flaw by embedding a malicious payload within a markdown (.md) file. When an unsuspecting user opens this compromised file, the attack could lead to Remote Code Execution through mutation Cross-Site Scripting (XSS), allowing attackers to execute arbitrary code on the victim's machine.
