Application Integrity Vulnerability in Motorola ACE1000 RTUs
CVE-2022-30269
8.8HIGH
What is CVE-2022-30269?
The Motorola ACE1000 Remote Terminal Units (RTUs) exhibit vulnerabilities due to mishandling application integrity, allowing for custom application installations without proper authentication mechanisms. This flaw enables potential attackers to upload malicious application images via the web interface or transfer them through SFTP/SSH. The absence of firmware signing and reliance on insecure checksum verification for integrity checks pose significant security risks, creating opportunities for unauthorized modification to RTU functionalities.
