What is CVE-2022-37660?

In hostapd 2.10 and earlier, a flaw exists in the PKEX code that remains active post successful PKEX association, potentially allowing attackers to compromise future associations. If an attacker previously bootstrapped public keys with an entity using PKEX, they can exploit this weakness by passively observing public keys. By re-using the encrypting element Qi and deducting it from the captured message M, an attacker can compute the ephemeral key X, instrumental in undermining the integrity of the PKEX association.
