What is CVE-2022-38553?

A reflected cross-site scripting vulnerability exists in the Academy Learning Management System prior to version 5.9.1. This issue arises when user input is not properly sanitized before being reflected back to the browser, allowing attackers to execute malicious scripts. By exploiting the vulnerability, an attacker can manipulate the Search parameter to run arbitrary JavaScript in the context of the user's session, posing risks such as stealing sensitive data or session hijacking. Users are urged to upgrade to the latest version to mitigate this risk.
