What is CVE-2022-44451?

An uninitialized pointer vulnerability has been identified in the MSI format atom functionality of Open Babel versions 3.1.1 and its master commit. This vulnerability enables attackers to craft malformed files that could lead to arbitrary code execution when processed by the software. By exploiting this issue, an attacker can provide a specially designed malicious file, potentially compromising the affected system.
