What is CVE-2022-46280?
A vulnerability exists in the PQS format pFormat functionality within Open Babel, where a use of an uninitialized pointer can occur. This vulnerability allows an attacker to craft a specially malformed file that, when processed, may lead to arbitrary code execution. By delivering a maliciously crafted file to the Open Babel software, an attacker can exploit this vulnerability, potentially compromising the system’s integrity and security.
