What is CVE-2022-49710?

A vulnerability exists in the dm-mirror functionality of the Linux kernel that involves an issue with rounding up the region bitmap size to BITS_PER_LONG. The vulnerability is due to incorrect handling of bitset size, which can allow access beyond the allocated memory on 64-bit architectures when using unsigned long pointers.
